-13 Earth, -5 Air, 8 Fire, 10 Water
You have one of the three Steam personalities. Steam Personalities are all moralists to a large degree. They care about what is right, and to them what is right has to do with what affects other people.

OKC won't let me list all 52 categories, so I've had to bundle three categories into one here. Take a look at your score to find the exact category that applies to you below, then find the blurb about the category the most suits you father below. Remember that the subcategories listed here assume you already had the scores to put you on this page, so don't try to use the subcategories on someone else's page. High is +5&up, Low is minus 5&down.

Fire&Water High, Earth&Air Low: Pure Moralist

Fire&Water High, Earth Low: Creative Moralist

Fire&Water High, Air Low: Industrious Moralist

Creative Moralist The Creative Moralist has an inventive side to go along with that focus on right and wrong. Art and creativity are still secondary to the overal personality, but not to such a strong degree as the other moralists. You are bothered by the inventor types who don't consider the impact that their creations are going to have on other people. To you a more efficient gun is still a gun. If someone asked you out of the blue "Do you know how to fix things up?" you'd more likely think they were talking about people's lives instead of their cars.

Industrious Moralist Right and Wrong are the compass the guides your life, like all moralists. Unlike some other moralists, you go a little beyond that to have a somewhat more practical side as well. You like making things right for your friends, and might have been accused of "meddling" from time to time, but you generally mean well. Art doesn't particularly bother you, but for the most part it just isn't your thing. You might like some kind of crafting as a hobby, especially if it were attached to the right social circle, but you'd be happy to just follow the instuctions in the kit rather than strike out for uncharted realms.

Pure Moralist Your relationships run towards the intense. The explosive nature of your personality can make them rocky or bring them to an end, but it can also make them rich and rewarding, because you don't settle when things aren't quite right. You tend to depend on others to keep you from falling into ruts, and can be fairly criticized for criticizing too much. Your big strength is that you understand what is fair and can often use that to makes things right between people. The more even-tempered moralists make great arbiters.

Summary for chapter one: How One Idea Multiplied My Income and Happiness

The main idea here is enthusiasm.

Enthusiasm can overcome Fears.
Enthusiasm can affect other people to become enthusiastic.

Poem by Herbert Kauffman

You are the man who used to boast
That you’d achieve the uttermost,
Some day.

You merely wished a show,
To demonstrate how much you know
And prove the distance you go…

Another year we’ve just passed through.
What new ideas came to you?
How many big things did you do?

Time… left twelve fresh months in your care
How many of them did you share?
With opportunity and dare
Again where you so often missed?

We do not find you on the list of Makers Good.
Explain the fact!
Ah no, that was not the chance you lacked!
As usual - you failed to act!

Main point: To become enthusiastic – act enthusiastic.

The Death of Common Sense

by An Unknown Author

Today we mourn the passing of an old friend by the name of Common Sense.

No one really knows how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He selflessly devoted his life to service in schools, hospitals, homes, factories and offices, helping folks get jobs done without fanfare and foolishness. For decades, petty rules, silly laws and frivolous lawsuits held no power over Common Sense. He was credited with cultivating such valued lessons as: to know when to come in out of the rain, the early bird gets the worm, and life isn't always fair.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn), reliable parenting strategies (adults are in charge, not kids), and adages such as "it's okay to come in second." A veteran of the Industrial Revolution, the Great Depression, and the Technological Revolution, Common Sense survived cultural and educational trends including feminism, body piercing, whole language and "new math."

But his health declined when he became infected with the "if-it-only-helps-one-person-it's-worth-it" virus. In recent decades his waning strength proved no match for the ravages of overbearing federal regulation. He watched in pain as good people became ruled by self-seeking lawyers and enlightened auditors.

His health rapidly deteriorated when schools endlessly implemented zero-tolerance policies, reports made of six-year-old boys charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate, a teen suspended for taking a swig of mouthwash after lunch,a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, there must be a 100% pass rate for all classes, and that parent is king. (and a personal thought - moving away from corporal punishment is anti Common Sense).

His health declined even further when schools had to get parental consent to administer aspirin to a student but cannot inform the parent when the female student is pregnant or wants an abortion, the many red tapes and obstacles a teacher needed to go through before he could expose the kids to an outdoor activity, e.g. swimming. Finally, Common Sense lost his will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband, churches became businesses, criminals received better treatment than victims, schools became factories, students' results turned profit-margin, and judges stuck their noses in everything from Boy Scouts to professional sports.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by three stepbrothers: Rights, Tolerance and Whiner. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.
